Protecting Your Wrap

Tips to keep your car wrap from fading

At Sigma Wraps, we get questions every day from clients about how long a vehicle wrap will last and what clients could do to extend that life. Here are some good tips.

1) Don’t purchase wrap material that isn’t UV resistant

When choosing the right vinyl for your car wrap, don’t just pick the cheapest vinyl, make sure you are getting a higher quality UV resistant vinyl that is rated to last longer. This will help it to resist fading and keep your car wrap looking good for longer.

2) Protect your vinyl from the weather

The Texas sun is undefeated, and it’s the number one thing that will fade your vehicle wrap. So when you are not using your car, try to keep it covered. Excess rainwater can also have a damaging effect on your wrap, so if possible, keep your vehicle garaged or under a carport.

3) Keep your car clean

Keeping your car clean will also help your wrap to stand the test of time. We recommend using good-quality car shampoo to help add an extra layer of protection to your wrap. We also warn against any automated washes and recommend only hand washing.

4) Choose a professional installer

A professional installer will be able to make sure that your wrap is installed perfectly and look great for as long as possible. It may look like an easy job, but left to an amateur, it could spell disaster and lead to unnecessary fading and wear over time.

At Sigma Wraps, we are experts at installing custom car wraps that will not only look fantastic but also stand the test of time. Give us a call or stop by today for a free consultation on your vehicle wrap project.
